Numerical and Verbal Aptitude – GATE/ESE/PSU 2019
It is a matter of great pleasure and pride for me to introduce to you this book “Numerical and Verbal Aptitude”. As a teacher, guiding the GATE/ESE Aspirants for many years now, I always have tried to spread awareness about the importance of good verbal skills in students. Also, great skills in Numerical Aptitude gets you through multiple exams because good aptitude skills indicate that you are able to apply your brain to the problem and figure out the easiest solutions. I have always felt the need for a book which can illustrate the basic concepts well to sharpen the understanding in a short span of time.
Numerical and Verbal Aptitude are two most important pillars of any postgraduate exam like GATE, CAT, SSC, Bank-PO and due to lack of exposure in college time students generally, lack in this subject. Though many students underestimate the importance of General Aptitude, this subject is not only important due to its weightage in GATE exam but also for personality development as good skills in the English language reflect upon the personality and your day to day communication. Also, it helps in brain development which will assist you in any walk of life.
The book aims to help you solve various general aptitude problems to illustrate how to tackle even the most complex problems with ease. This book covers all the topics required for Verbal Aptitude in GATE/ESE as well as other related exams which are Grammar, Error Spotting, Comprehension, Sentence Completion, Vocabulary, Critical Reasoning, and Analogy. All the topics in Numerical Aptitude like Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Geometry, Blood Relations, Simple and Compound Interest etc. are covered in sufficient detail as well as with numerous solved examples.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few GATE Toppers and Faculty members who have made valuable contributions to this book and I would also like to appreciate the effort of Team Kreatryx who worked hard for the timely completion of this book. Valuable Suggestions from the students and teachers are always welcome, and these will find the due place in the ensuing editions.
